Business Development Manager - The Legists : Job Details

We are currently recruiting for a new Business Development Manager opportunity on behalf of our client, a prestigious US law firm.

Notably, the BD Manager will support the firm’s transactional practice groups, with a focus on Global Finance and Financial Restructuring, in London and across EMEA as needed. The successful applicant will execute a wide range of projects involving marketing planning, client targeting, pitches, directory submissions, events and communications.

Working closely with the Director, the manager will develop BD plans and strategies to enhance the growth of the practice areas. Typical responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with group leadership to formulate a clear strategy.
• Conducting research and analysis to help identify new business opportunities.
• Providing business intelligence on key competitors and marketplace trends.
• Supporting lawyers on responses to RFPs and other new business proposals.
• Working closely with the firm’s digital and communications teams to build profile and visibility.
• Assisting with the preparation of directory and award submissions, developing a ‘maximum recognition’ strategy.
• Working closely with the events team.
• Strategising with stakeholders in regard to marketing budgets and return on investment.
• Working closely with global colleagues to ensure alignment with firmwide strategies and goals.

Suitable applicants will have around 5+ years of BD/marketing experience gained from within a City law firm, strong leadership skills, the ability to anticipate marketing needs and a strong collaborative approach.

A highly competitive salary of up to £80,000 is on offer (dependent upon experience), plus an excellent benefits package and hybrid working arrangements (3 days per week in the office).
