Business Development Executive

  • Annual Salary: £27k - £31k basic (depending on experience) plus circa £10k annual commission
  • Location: Hybrid (Office-based on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking two proactive Business Development Executives to join our growing client. This role involves generating new business and revenue opportunities through direct sales activities and securing well-qualified appointments for the sales teams. The focus is on new customer acquisition, lead generation through cold calling, and outbound sales activities, with account management responsibilities developing over time.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Generate new business by identifying new markets and leads from existing customers using appropriate mediums.
  • Develop regular contact with new customers to build rapport and explore further business opportunities.
  • Negotiate new business on the best possible terms focusing on profitability and utilisation while maintaining a competitive edge.
  • Develop revenue from existing customers through effective and regular contact.
  • Maintain high levels of competitor awareness and report findings back to the Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Keep existing customers informed of our full portfolio of services for events and BAU requirements.
  • Identify potential new service requirements and provide feedback to Marketing.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to develop quotes, proposals, and other sales administration tasks.
  • Produce quotes and other supporting documentation for customers within agreed timescales following Marketing guidelines.
  • Complete accurate administration of sales processes including updating the customer database and using in-house sales systems.
  • Provide feedback from customers regarding competitors or feedback on our product offering.
  • Pass on leads to other sales offices/teams as appropriate.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of B2B Business Development/outbound calling experience.
  • Proven success in new business generation, lead qualification, and customer acquisition.
  • Strong ability to build rapport and manage accounts over time.
  • Experience in telecoms is beneficial but not essential; however, cold calling experience is required.
