About Storengy UK

Storengy UK is a subsidiary of ENGIE, we developed and now operate the Stublach Natural Gas Storage site in Cheshire, the largest onshore in the UK.

We are actively participating in the energy transition and supporting the UK government strategy to reach net zero by 2050. We have set our own carbon neutral target of 2025. A strategy to develop biomethane production in the UK and an ambition to create and operate hydrogen storage further support these targets.

About the role

Storengy UK are recruiting for a Business Applications Developer based in Stublach Site in Cheshire. This is a Permanent role, working full time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve the existing NEMO and RBB applications, and ensure their continuous, seamless integration with the existing (Boomi, CDATA) and emerging 3rd party and customer APIs.

  • Accelerate and dynamize the move to AWS for business applications that are currently hosted on premise and are not in the industrial perimeter (e.g. IBM Maximo, Data Warehouse, etc.).

  • Work with ENGIE GBS IT and the Storengy UK LTD development team, to ensure that all the business applications are patched, up to date, and have not got any vulnerabilities.

  • Assist the local CISO to address all the cyber security issues highlighted in the regular KPI monitored at Group level with respect to business applications.

  • Provide support to the business by embracing the digitalisation needs of different departments, and engaging with the Networks GBU Digital applications team, where possible, to adopt common applications for areas currently not covered through the Dev/Sec/Ops process.

  • Develop new custom-made applications, where there is no ENGIE solution, in accordance with the Storengy UK LTD business needs.

  • Although the Storengy UK IT team is very small, we use Dev/Sec/Ops skills provided by third party contractors at present, so managing the development work assignments in a most efficient and cost-effective way, is essential.

Key Requirements

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and platforms - AWS is a 'must’

  • Knowledge of scripting and automation languages such as Ruby, Python, Perl, Java, PowerShell, SQL Server, NoSQL, MySQL

  • Proficiency in version control, configuration management, CI/CD, and IaaC tools

  • Degree level qualification / AWS Certificate / Agile Foundation

  • NodeJS / JIRA or related development tracking tools.
