The size, complexity and heritage of the Royal residences will present you with some truly fascinating, and often unique, challenges. Joining our professional and expert in-house team as a Building Supervisor, you’ll oversee day-to-day works being carried out across Windsor Castle.

In all you do, you’ll take a long-term view, planning for the future, modernising our systems and finding new ways to achieve great efficiencies whilst maintaining the fabric of our historic estates,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing vital advice and guidance to the wider team, you’ll schedule and oversee a range of works that vary in scope and scale.
  • You’ll co-ordinate both planned and reactive maintenance, as well as taking on smaller repair and restoration projects.
  • Working closely with internal and external colleagues, your advice and instruction will be vital in keeping activities on track.
  • You’ll carry out regular audits and inspections of suppliers and work orders to ensure jobs are being delivered to specification, all the while promoting risk awareness and ensuring quality controls and statutory regulations are in place.
  • As a contact and liaison point for our customers, you’ll ensure everyone is kept up to-date and informed.
  • Accurate record keeping will be important, and you'll ensure that all works are fully documented and logged in our new CAFM system.

Essential Criteria:

  • You’ll have gained experience supervising multi-site commercial or residential properties. Experience working within a historic/listed buildings environment would also be a real advantage but is not a requirement.
  • Organised, yet flexible in approach, you'll be able to prioritise multiple deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances in order to keep on top of our maintenance programme.
  • With strong supervisory skills you’ll hit the ground running and will be confident directing and organising others in tasks.
  • You're also perceptive with excellent analytical skills, able to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.
  • You’ll have gained excellent communication stakeholder management skills from supervising in-house teams and contractor relationships before.
  • Computer literate and with strong administrative skills, you'll be able to use Microsoft tools and CAFM software to deliver your varied workload.
  • Whilst a City and Guilds or Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) qualification would be desirable, it’s your customer service focus and aim to deliver exceptional results that will make you an asset to the team.
