Job Title: Building Services Engineer (Electrical)
Location: Atria Watford Shopping Centre
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 – flexibility required for evenings and weekends

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our on-site maintenance team at Atria Watford Shopping Centre. The successful candidate will carry out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of building services systems, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all electrical and mechanical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance in line with the site’s maintenance programme and HVAC specifications.
- Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance and repair requests efficiently.
- Ensure all works comply with company quality assurance and health & safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all works completed on site.
- Inspect and assess building service systems, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Attend site emergencies and provide out-of-hours support as required.
- Work safely in plant room environments and at height (appropriate PPE and access provided).
- Maintain company tools and equipment in a safe, serviceable condition.
- Support the wider engineering team and management to achieve contract objectives.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- City & Guilds Electrical Engineering qualification.
- IEE 18th Edition (2018, updated to A2:2022).
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills within a building services environment.
- Solid understanding of systems such as fire alarms, BMS, mains switchgear, AHUs, HVAC, pumps, and water systems.
- Experience with 3-phase and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Proven ability to fault-find and apply logical problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented approach with good communication and record-keeping skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- C&G Inspection & Testing certification.
- IPAF certification.
- Health & Safety qualifications.
- Experience with BMS controls, generators, sprinkler systems, and air conditioning systems.
- Basic plumbing and water treatment knowledge.
- Computer literacy.
