We have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Safety Compliance Manager to develop and lead our Safety and Compliance Specialists focusing on asbestos, lifts and water hygiene, to join our team. This role is based from our Basingstoke office, this is a 12-month fixed term opportunity.
At SNG we support a hybrid working approach and this role will involve a mix of home working (3 days), site visits and working from the office (2 days).
The Role
To take responsibility for the development and leadership of the Safety and Compliance Specialist, for Lifts and Water Hygiene, and Asbestos to ensure compliance across all areas. Ongoing responsibility in developing, implementing and maintaining suitable policies, procedures and processes together with appropriate contract arrangements for the continued adherence to our landlord obligations with an evident focus on customer safety.
You'll ensure that data and records relating to building safety and regulatory compliance are held centrally for full transparency and ensure suitable contracts are in place to continue the ongoing management.
- To act as a senior technical subject matter expert on all work streams relating to lifts, water hygiene and asbestos
- Responsibility and accountability to assess safety risks
- Identify any changes to regulatory or legislative requirements that impacts SNG and its ability to effectively manage its assets
- To take ownership to deliver the right outcome for our customers in a safe and timely way
- Providing advice and support to the team and the organisation to draft specifications and designs for building safety compliance related systems and activities
- Support the Assistant Director of Building Safety Compliance to develop and evolve all Plans, Policies, Processes or Procedures as required
What we're looking for:
- Excellent demonstratable technical knowledge and experience of building safety, in particular Lifts, Water Hygiene and Asbestos
- Knowledge and understanding of current building regulations in the given area ideally within the Housing Sector
- Experience in technically advising, specifying, and regulatory requirements for areas of management
- Must hold a Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety or working towards
- Evidence of delivering on innovative concepts, utilising future changes in policy to support flexibility in a responsive organisation
- Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively with others in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Experience of managing a multi-disciplined team of Subject Matter Experts
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Evidence of excellent customer service achievements in a complex delivery environment
