A dynamic and growing consultancy is seeking a Building Physics Consultant to join their Manchester-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded individual who's passionate about sustainable design, energy efficiency, and delivering high-performance building solutions.
The Role:The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting clients in optimising building performance through detailed modelling, analysis, and sustainable design strategies. This hybrid role offers flexibility to work both remotely and from a collaborative Manchester office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out building physics analysis, including thermal modelling, daylighting, overheating, and energy performance assessments
- Use software such as IES VE, DesignBuilder, or TAS to deliver simulations and reports
- Support design teams with insights on passive design strategies, fabric-first approaches, and compliance (Part L, TM59, TM52, etc.)
- Contribute to the development of sustainability strategies and low-carbon building solutions
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants to deliver integrated design solutions
Requirements:
- Experience in a building physics or sustainability consultancy role
- Proficiency with thermal modelling software (e.g. IES VE, TAS, or DesignBuilder)
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, including Part L, TM52/TM59, and relevant CIBSE guidance
- A degree in building services engineering, environmental design, architectural engineering, or a related discipline
- Based within commutable distance to Manchester
