Bridging Underwriter - Twentyfour Recruitment Group : Job Details

Our client who are a fast-growing finance company that helps people who don’t always fit the “big bank” rules are looking for a Bridging Underwriter to join their team!

Please note - they are moving to Camden (Zone 2) in late 2025

This is a Full-Time role based in Borehamwood: 4 days in the office, Fridays at home

The Bridging Underwriter is responsible for underwriting bridging finance applications where our client has issued initial terms. The Underwriter must work together with the other members of the Underwriting team to ensure that loans are processed in accordance with the underwriting manual and lending policy. The Underwriter must use their skill and experience to approve those loans which are deemed acceptable and reject any which do not meet the criteria or where the Underwriter does not believe the borrower will be able to repay.

• Look at loan applications and decide if they’re a good idea or too risky
• Talk with brokers, lawyers, and surveyors to get deals done
• Work with other teams to keep things moving smoothly
• Help make their process even better
• Stay sharp on rules and keep everything up to date

• 2+ years experience saying “yes” or “no” to bridging loans
• Know how property loans work (regulated and non-regulated)
• Good at spotting red flags and making smart calls
• Can think outside the box but still play it safe
• A team player with great people and time skills
