Role Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with an excellent technical knowledge of pensions in particular Bulk Purchase Annuity to join an EQ team based in Crawley. You will be working with clients as part of the administration team on a day-to-day basis to provide specialist expert guidance on complex cases

Our Operations teams must deliver a service to our clients that is in line with strict client contractual and regulatory requirements, as well as protecting the commercial interests of EQ. Our client base is varied and includes Financial Services, Large Corporate and Public and Third Sector clients, and through leveraging technology and innovation, Operations must deliver an excellent service across our diverse client base.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Acting as a focal point for all the technical queries
  • Compliance with scheme rules, industry regulations and pensions legislation
  • Provide expert advice and guidance
  • Assessment of complex technical pensions issues and provide specialist expertise to team members.
  • Contributes to the design and development of new approaches and solutions in line with business and/or client needs.
  • Establishes processes for managing and administering sufficient quality controls within the Administration team
  • Application of established processes to ensure quality of calculations and external communications is protected.
  • Responsibility for production of technically sound processes and procedures.
  • Transfer skills to other team members.
  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Provides expert guidance and coaching to team members.
  • Collates and analyses data to produce solutions.
  • Support the translation of quality objectives to team member
  • Service improvement and efficiency identification.
  • Quality checking of work carried out by the team.
  • Ad-hoc activities as determined by Operational Manager.

  • Full understanding of scheme rules, industry regulations and pension legislation.
  • Translation of scheme rules, industry regulations and pension legislation.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Thorough, consistent and effective approach to quality of pension related projects and bulk tasks.
  • Implementation and ongoing compliance with quality requirements
  • Delivery of solutions which can flexibly accommodate changing business and technical requirements.
  • Provide recommendations and manage implementation of agreed solutions with quality monitoring controls.
