A well-established business in Grimsby is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance efforts, and contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains accurate financial records using accounting software
- Processes invoices, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations
- Prepares VAT returns and assists with payroll processing
- Monitors cash flow and supports budgeting and forecasting activities
- Liaises with external accountants and HMRC when required
- Supports month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Provides general administrative support to the finance department
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
