Biology Lecturer - Reed : Job Details

Reed Further Education are working with a college seeking an experienced A-level Biology Lecturer for a temporary ongoing position. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong background in delivering A-level Biology content and has worked with students aged 16-19. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team in Longbridge, Birmingham, helping to nurture and develop the potential of our students.

Job Title: Biology Lecturer

Position: 10 hours, part-time, term-time only

Role type: Temporary Ongoing

Location: Longbridge, Birmingham

Rate: £26p/h to £28.67p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver engaging and informative A-level Biology lessons to students aged 16-19.
• Prepare lesson plans and educational materials that meet curriculum standards.
• Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in teaching A-level Biology.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong understanding of the educational needs and challenges for students aged 16-19.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
