JA1330 - Bid WriterLocation –  Manchester or Solihull Salary - Up to £45K DOE Type – PermanentHours – 36.5 per weekOverview:We are currently recruiting for a Bid Writer to join our client who are one of the UK’s leading technical and energy services providers at the forefront of delivering net zero solutions for their clients. The successful candidate will manage and produce PQQ/RFI and ITT/RFQ responses, including writing bespoke content and editing existing responses to suit each tender. The role is supporting the Building Services team primarily, with ad-hoc content production for the rest of Build & ConnectThis role is remote based and candidates will be considered from either the Manchester or Solihull areas as our client has offices in both for when office attendance is required.Aims & Objectives:

  • Produce bid-winning submissions in line with client-driven timescales.
  • Sell the skills of the business through engaging copy, information, and graphics.
  • Develop the Bid Library through the constant refinement, improvement, and production of content.
  • Control brand integrity and support the correct use of templates within the business unit.
  • Allocate, manage, support, and edit input from other team members.
  • Support the Bid Coordinator to develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and extract deliverables from tender documents, allocate responsibilities to bid team members (and others, if necessary) as part of the Bid Launch; manage others’ timely and appropriate input
  • Work with the bid team to develop a win theme and reflect this in the submission.
  • Take responsibility for bid production to a submission-ready state, ensuring that all submitted materials meet company brand guidelines.
  • Produce presentations (mostly PowerPoint) for post-tender interviews.
  • Support and contribute to the Go / No Go and other governance processes.
  • Support the Bid Lead, and to take on that role on occasions, where appropriate.
  • Assist the Bid Coordinator to write copy for project profiles, staff CVs and other library material.

Skills & Experience:Essential

  • Understanding of the construction industry tender process.
  • Experience in construction sector bid writing.
  • Demonstrably strong writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload when constrained by tight deadlines, calm under pressure.
  • Confidence to delegate and communicate effectively with all departments.
  • Ability to project manage a number of bids in an organised and controlled manner.
  • A flexible approach with a problem-solving, creative mindset.
  • Experienced user of MS Office software, particularly Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Experience of Adobe InDesign
  • Experience of MS Project
  • Background in the mechanical & electrical services industry
  • Knowledge of M&E market drivers and our competition
