Job Description :

Reed Secure is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions for security cleared professionals.

We require a Benefits Lead to cover an existing workload within Metropolitan Police, based in Newlands Park, New Scotland Yard or West Hampstead (Hybrid working – 2/3 days per week).

This is an interim position for an initial 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Job Purpose:

  • This role will support the rollout and embedding of a newly refreshed benefits management framework across multiple programmes.
  • The successful candidate will act as the central point of contact for benefits-related matters, providing both strategic oversight and hands-on support depending on the maturity of each programme.
  • Key responsibilities include guide programmes through the updated benefits framework including benefits mapping, identification and quantification of cashable, non-cashable and quality benefits.
  • Support programmes with varying levels of internal capability.
  • Some may have existing benefits staff (requiring oversight and guidance).
  • Others may need direct, hands-on support (“holding the pen”).
  • Work closely with cluster leads to ensure consistent data flow and monthly updates.
  • Translate time savings and efficiencies into measurable value (e.g. pound savings or productivity gains).
  • Track benefit realisation timelines and outcomes.

Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:

  • Have 2–3 years’ experience minimum in benefits management, ideally within the public sector
  • Be comfortable operating in politically sensitive and complex environments, where stakeholder engagement may be challenging
  • Have hands-on experience with benefits quantification, including:
  • Budget-reducing cashable benefits
  • Non-cashable efficiencies
  • Productivity improvements
  • Be able to convert qualitative improvements into demonstrable organisational value
  • Be adaptable to different programme contexts, offering tailored support
  • Be proactive and collaborative, working across multiple teams and stakeholders.

This role offers a competitive salary of £550 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35) and you’ll be working via Reed who offer great benefits such as discounts, cashback offers and more as well as weekly pay.
