Experienced Bench Joiner - Fire Doors & Bespoke Joinery | Derby

We’re recruiting for a skilled Bench Joiner with specific experience in fire doors, fire-rated screens, and bespoke joinery. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected, high-quality joinery workshop based in Derby, known for crafting bespoke and certified timber products.

You’ll be working in a hands-on role producing made-to-order items to precise specifications. This role is ideal for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in bench joinery who is confident working from technical drawings and wants to be part of a collaborative, detail-focused team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture of fire doors, fire-rated screens, and custom timber joinery

• Assembly of door sets and components to meet certification standards

• Reading and working from technical drawings to exact specifications

• Managing own workload to meet workshop deadlines

• Supporting team members and working alongside the Joinery Team Leader

• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ bench joinery experience (ideally with fire-rated products)

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Excellent time management and organisational skills

• Self-motivated with a proactive, team-focused approach

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with fire certification requirements

• Experience using CNC machinery (advantageous but not essential)
