As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant in Tilehurst, you will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, supporting their emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour strategies within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.
• Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to deliver effective support plans.
• Use behaviour management techniques to help students engage in learning.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children to foster confidence and resilience.
• Support teaching and learning across the classroom when required.
• Follow all safeguarding and inclusion procedures within the Tilehurst primary school.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is desirable, ideally as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and social-emotional development.
• Calm, patient, and positive approach when managing challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Reliable, adaptable, and committed to helping children achieve their best.
• Passionate about supporting pupils in a Tilehurst primary school setting.
