Behaviour Support Assistant - London Secondary School
We are looking for a dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistant to support students in a secondary school setting. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques, restorative practice, and positive reinforcement.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
- Effective classroom support skills - adapting learning tasks, assisting with lessons, and providing 1:1 or small group interventions.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and parents.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Resilience, empathy, and patience when supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
- Strong organisational skills, including record-keeping and reporting of behavioural progress.
The Role of Behaviour Support Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group interventions.
