Long Term Futures are working with a large, inclusive secondary school in Hackney to appoint an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September 2025.
This diverse and well-led school places a strong emphasis on inclusive education, student wellbeing and early intervention. You will be part of the school's internal inclusion team, supporting pupils across all year groups who are at risk of disengagement, persistent absence, or behavioural challenges.
The school has designated intervention spaces, structured support pathways, and values the input of pastoral and behaviour specialists as a core part of their team.
Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural or emotional needs* Support across lessons, social times and transitions to ensure consistent inclusion* Contribute to the delivery of restorative and behaviour intervention programmes* Assist with reintegration following isolation, absence or internal referrals* Monitor pastoral progress, liaise with staff and families, and record interventions* Be a visible, positive presence throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with behaviour or SEMH needs* A confident, calm and consistent approach to behaviour management* Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships* A background in youth work, pastoral care, PRU or inclusion settings* Understanding of restorative approaches and safeguarding practices
