Behaviour Mentor | South Normanton, DE55 | £110 per day | Long Term to Permanent | September 4th 2025

LTF Recruitment are working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Derbyshire, to appoint a Behaviour Mentor. This role will involve supporting learners aged 11-18 years, but mainly across the Key Stage 3 age groups. The school prides itself on providing a nurturing, flexible provision that blends education, care, and therapy to help every student achieve their potential.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified KS3 students, delivering targeted interventions to support behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to promote positive behaviour strategies within the classroom.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, listening to their needs and providing structured support.
  • Use adaptive strategies to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring students remain engaged and make academic and personal progress.
  • Develop, set, and monitor individual behaviour improvement plans, working closely with the pastoral team and parents when required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Key Stage 3 students with SEN and behavioural needs in a school or similar setting.
  • A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Health and Social Care, SEN, or Behaviour Support is desirable, Level 3 as a minimum.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to converse with Senior Leaders and Next of Kins.
