Band 6 RMN - Prisons - Tripod Health : Job Details

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 RMN (Staff Nurse – Prisons) to join the Mental Health team at HMP Isle of Wight on a 3-month placement (renewable on a 4-week basis).

Location: HMP Isle of Wight, Parkhurst Road, Newport, IOW, PO30 5RS

Hours: Full-time – 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00

Start date: Immediate

Requirement: Must hold current prison clearance

• Provide mental health interventions across wellbeing, primary, and secondary mental health services within the prison.
• Manage your own caseload: assessments, care planning, interventions, and reviews under the Care Programme Approach.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions, including health promotion in a secure environment.
• Provide culturally sensitive and holistic care to prisoners.
• Undertake risk assessments, offering guidance and decision-making to support patient safety.
• Coordinate care and assessment under the care coordination framework.
• Administer and oversee medication management in line with clinical policies.
• Contribute to setting, auditing, and monitoring quality standards to ensure best practice.

• Day: £26.78 per hour
• Nights / Saturday: £35.71 per hour
• Sunday / Bank Holiday: £44.65 per hour
