My client, a Group Company with a portfolio of reputable global brands is seeking an Associate In-House Legal Counsel for a 12-month maternity cover position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic legal team supporting a broad range of commercial and corporate legal matters.

Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of 2–3 years of post-qualification legal experience or completion of paralegal training.
- Prior in-house experience within a commercial organisation is advantageous.
- The ideal candidate will be efficient, proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Strong communication and drafting skills are essential, along with the ability to provide commercially sound legal advice and see the broader business context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Legal and the wider legal team with daily operations.
- Draft a variety of commercial agreements, including distribution, supply, agency, consultancy, sourcing, and service contracts.
- Assist in the negotiation and execution of commercial contracts.
- Draft and update internal company policies and ensure compliance with applicable legal standards.
- Provide legal and professional support to senior management and directors on a range of legal matters.
- Advise on general commercial contracts across the business.
- Maintain and organise legal documentation within the department’s database and library.
- Update and manage the database of existing agreements and HR folders as required.
- Report regularly to the Group CEO/Director on project progress and participate in team meetings, including coordination with other Group entities.
- Undertake HR-related tasks such as drafting employment documents, liaising with external counsel, and supporting redundancy, disciplinary, and other employment-related processes.
- Fulfil responsibilities typically associated with an HR Associate.
- Review commercial contracts and terms and conditions, advising on associated legal risks.
- Ensure adherence to company and group policies and procedures.
