Department Overview
The Infrastructure Finance team is part of the wider market-leading Finance Group, advising sponsors and funders on UK and international infrastructure transactions.
Their experience spans acquisition financings, refinancings (including multi-creditor platforms), portfolio financings, Holdco financings, and—occasionally—project-level financings. Sectors include:
- Energy (conventional, renewable, and energy infrastructure)
- Digital and communications
- Transport
- Water and waste management
- Oil and gas

The team works across the full deal lifecycle, following clients into emerging and innovative sub-sectors as the definition of infrastructure evolves.

The Role
Working closely with the Infrastructure Finance Partner, you will support the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of high-value infrastructure financing transactions. This is a strategic growth area for the Finance Group, offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious associate to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate financing documents (term sheets, facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements) for both borrowers and lenders.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates, trainees, and paralegals.
- Collaborate with other practice areas, particularly Infrastructure M&A.
- Coordinate cross-border transactions with local counsel from the firm’s international network.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and build industry relationships.
- Manage matters efficiently, ensuring compliance with firm processes and budgets.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor in a common law jurisdiction.
- Strong academic record.
- Experience in Infrastructure Finance, Project Finance, or Leveraged Finance with an interest in infrastructure.
- Excellent drafting and commercial awareness.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
