About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our York team. Specialising in lingerie and swimwear, we pride ourselves on delivering expert fittings, excellent customer service, and a curated range of products that help our customers feel confident and comfortable.

As Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, leading by example to deliver outstanding service, drive sales, and ensure smooth operations across stock, merchandising, and team support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service through personalised lingerie and swimwear fittings.
• Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and helping them feel at ease.
• Drive sales performance and contribute to achieving store targets.
• Supervise, motivate, and develop the store team.
• Oversee stock control, deliveries, and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards to reflect brand values.
• Take an active role in the store’s social media, supporting day-to-day activity and confidently leading campaigns or content when required.
• Take part in wear tests to build product knowledge and support confident selling.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety.
• Step up in the absence of the Store Manager to ensure seamless operations.

About You

• Previous retail management or supervisory experience (Assistant Manager or Team Leader level preferred).
• Experience in a customer-focused retail environment, ideally fashion, lingerie, or specialist fittings.
• Strong people skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team.
• Naturally friendly and approachable, able to bond with customers and read their needs.
• Confident in driving sales and meeting performance targets.
• Organised and detail-oriented, with strong stock control skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the store, including weekends and holidays.
