Assistant Payroll Manager | Faversham | Up to £38K

We’re exclusively recruiting on behalf of a well-established, values-led care provider with multiple sites across Kent and South East London. They are looking for an Assistant Payroll Manager to take ownership of their end-to-end payroll processes across both monthly and 4-weekly cycles.

This role is integral to the organisation’s finance and compliance functions and offers genuine scope for impact, systems improvement, and career progression.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of payroll services across the group
• Administer pension schemes, life assurance, and statutory benefits
• Collaborate with HR to streamline onboarding and absence tracking
• Maintain accuracy of payroll data and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and payroll cost modelling
• Prepare payroll elements of the year-end audit file and contribute to internal audits
• Provide cover management of Payroll Assistants when needed
• Produce regular cost analysis and scenario planning for leadership

Candidate Profile:

• 5+ years’ payroll experience, ideally in a multi-site setting
• Advanced Excel user with strong analytical and reporting capabilities
• Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to work under pressure
• Confident communicator, collaborative by nature
