About the RoleWe’re looking for a proactive and experienced Assistant Passenger Transport Planner to help shape and deliver efficient, customer-focused transport solutions across West Sussex. Whether planning for public, school, or adult transport, you will play a key role in creating services that are practical, reliable, and resource-efficient.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and coordinate passenger transport solutions, ensuring value for money and operational efficiency

  • Schedule and manage services in collaboration with transport providers

  • Negotiate costs and service arrangements

  • Update and maintain GIS databases

  • Analyse passenger demand to inform transport strategies

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation

  • Investigate and resolve service issues as they arise

  • Attend meetings and occasionally visit depots - some evening and weekend work may be required
