Job Description :

I am working with a client that is looking for an Assistant Manager to join its Restructuring team at the firm's London office.

The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues to deliver insolvency and contingency planning advice to a wide range of businesses-from large, complex, often multi-jurisdictional organisations to small and medium-sized enterprises, including owner-managed businesses.

The team also provides a combination of stakeholder advisory services, typically focused on distressed businesses. This includes independent business reviews, cash flow management, accelerated M&A processes, and advising on restructurings that may involve formal insolvency procedures.

While the team is not aligned to specific sectors or specialisms, it includes professionals with extensive experience across various industries. Applicants are encouraged to bring sector-specific expertise but should also be prepared to work across a broad range of sectors, depending on the needs of the assignment. Although efforts will be made to align projects with the individual's base location, the nature of the work may require travel, including international assignments.

The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of assignments and would suit individuals who thrive in fast-paced, flexible environments.

Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Manager will be expected to:

  • Work in engagement teams of 3 to 6 people, supporting senior team members across a range of service offerings
  • Build trusted adviser relationships with senior leadership, mid-level executives, lawyers, bankers, and other key stakeholders
  • Manage engagements in line with the firm's engagement management standards covering scope, risk, timing, quality, and budget
  • Act as the main client contact on certain engagements, reporting to senior leaders
  • Conduct detailed analysis to deliver robust, actionable advice to clients
  • Assess complex, evolving business situations and contribute to developing innovative solutions, which may include formal insolvency strategies
  • Participate in business development initiatives
  • Support and mentor junior team members

Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or professional background in Restructuring
  • Beneficial (but not required): experience in corporate insolvency, insolvency licence, or CPI/JIEB qualification or plans to pursue such
  • Proven ability to manage workstreams within the Restructuring and Insolvency landscape
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Self-starter mentality with an ability to delegate effectively
  • Commitment to developing a broad range of insolvency and restructuring capabilities
  • Confident communicator across all organisational levels, including in high-pressure environments
  • Willingness to work across sectors and to travel if needed
  • A collaborative team player committed to mentoring others and contributing beyond individual assignments
  • Passion and drive

Benefits:

The firm offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package including attractive salaries and a range of core and optional perks.

Salary : 55000 - 65000
