Job Description :

Partnered with a growing FMCG business based in West London, situated within walking distance of the Central and Bakerloo Line, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant on a full time permanent basis (100% Office Based), to join a fast-paced FMCG business. This is a hands-on role supporting the Management Accountant with month-end processes, reporting, and financial analysis, while mentoring a junior team member.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing the month-end close, posting journals, and preparing management accounts (income statement and balance sheet)

  • Taking full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations

  • Preparing monthly purchase reports covering duty calculation, commission, and freight costs

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts, board reports, and departmental reviews

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts regularly

  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data

  • Completing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring compliance with regulations

  • Preparing weekly management reports such as aged debtor and sales analysis

  • Supporting the Management Accountant with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and projects

  • Providing cover for the Assistant Accountant

  • Managing and mentoring a Junior Accountant

  • Supporting other ad hoc finance tasks as required

To be successful, you must have:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as an Assistant Management Accountant in the FMCG industry

  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas such as VLOOKUPs

  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail for producing accurate reporting

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements

  • A willingness to learn from senior colleagues and contribute to team success
