You know that point in your finance career where you're good at the day-to-day stuff, but you're itching to get involved in something a bit meatier? That's where this job comes in.
This Huddersfield based manufacturing business need someone who can keep the wheels turning on the transactional side and get stuck into monthly management accounts. You'll also be the person everyone comes to when the finance queries get… "interesting".
What you'll be doing:
- Helping put together the monthly management accounts - accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, that sort of thing.
- Being the person the rest of the finance team comes to when a supplier invoice doesn't match, a payment's gone walkabout, or a customer's decided they "never got the invoice" (again).
- Sorting out knotted purchase ledger and credit control issues.
- Working closely with our Head of Finance, who's supportive, approachable, and not into shouting at people.
- Looking for ways to make our processes a bit better, faster, less painful.
- Working in collaboration with the sales team, not against them.
What we'd like you to have:
- Either AAT-qualified, working towards it CIMA or ACCA, and enough experience to know your way around a finance function without being spoon-fed.
- A decent grip on how purchase ledgers, sales ledgers, and credit control work.
- The patience of a saint when dealing with people who "don't do numbers".
- A bit of manufacturing experience would help, but it's not a deal breaker.
- Excel skills that go beyond just summing columns.
What's in it for you:
- An annual salary of up to £35k
- 32 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays, with the freedom to use the bank holidays whenever you fancy).
- The chance to get involved in more than just the transactional grind.
- Study support on completion of a successful probation period.
If you're after a role where you can keep one foot in the day-to-day finance world while also building more management accounts experience, this might be worth a chat.
