Job Description :

KCR are delighted to be recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant for an excellent client based in Gateshead. The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager to deliver accurate and timely management information that drives decision-making across the business. This role will involve preparing key financial reports, managing routine accounting activities, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements across operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, accruals and prepayments.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding items are acted upon.
  • Contribute to audit processes, and other statutory reporting.
  • Support the preparation of the company's annual budget.
  • Helping to improve and document financial processes.
  • Manage credit control process ensuring credit policy is adhered to, and carrying out routine accounting functions such as payroll, AP payment runs, bank reconciliations, journal posting, & daily online banking.
  • Review customer terms and conditions for areas of operational risk and advise sales team accordingly.
  • Cover for other members of the finance team.
  • Ad Hoc analysis of financial data as required.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong and resilient personality, and works well with a diverse range of people/personalities
  • Proactive work attitude including willingness to work some longer hours during peak periods.
  • Able to identify potential improvements to current processes to increase efficiency.
  • Microsoft Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables.
  • Experience with ERP business systems, Sage 200 and payroll systems will be desirable.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercially minded & self-motivated, eager to learn new concepts and participate in new activities.

Desirable Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Sage 200 or similar ERP systems
  • Experience handling payroll, bank reconciliations, and AP processes
  • Exposure to capital budgeting and cost centre management

Qualifications

CIMA/ACCA actively studying

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred

Salary : 33000 - 38000
