Role details

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Financial Controller to join a leader in the Automotive Industry. This role offers you the chance to take ownership of the financial management for a key technical entity, ensuring accurate month-end closure, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner closely with the Financial Controller to oversee budgets, delivering clear financial insights to local Managers and senior finance stakeholders across the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Controller

• Take ownership of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submission into corporate systems.
• Manage budgets-reporting monthly results, preparing forecasts and budgets, and partnering with the Director to provide analysis and feedback on performance.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate standards.
• Prepare quarterly corporate schedules for submission to divisional finance teams.
• Support ad hoc financial projects and analysis to drive decision-making and process improvement.

What the successful candidate will bring

• Fully qualified accountant.
• Previous exposure to the automotive industry or manufacturing sector preferred.
• Proven experience in preparing management accounts, managing budgets, and producing forecasts.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders at all levels.
