Assistant Financial Accountant

Location: Cardiff, UK

Salary: £30,000-£38,000

Our client, a globally recognised industry leader, is establishing a brand-new Shared Service Centre (SSC) in the heart of Cardiff — and they’re seeking ambitious finance professionals to be part of this exciting journey from the outset.

Your Role

As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial operations, including:

• Leading month-end close activities for intercompany transactions
• Performing balance sheet and revenue reconciliations across entities and service lines
• Managing sub-ledger closures, accruals, reclassifications, VAT settlements, payroll controls, and account reconciliations
• Overseeing travel and expenses month-end processes and reporting
• Driving fixed assets and leasing close activities, including depreciation and reconciliations
• Maintaining a robust fixed assets register to support reliable financial reporting

What We’re Looking For

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within a shared service or multinational environment
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel, with excellent attention to detail
• A proactive, analytical mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting
