Robertson Bell is partnering with a leading social housing organisation to recruit for an Assistant Finance Manager on a fixed-term contract. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team while managing key financial responsibilities within an organisation that makes a positive impact on the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchase ledger, expenses, and direct debits processes.

  • Oversee monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely submission of quarterly VAT returns.

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for the property services team.

  • Provide financial business partnering across the organisation, offering guidance and insights on financial matters.

  • Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor and Housing Assistant Accountant.

Person Specification:

  • Strong financial accounting skills with experience in fixed assets, VAT, and bank reconciliations.

  • Analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and macros).

  • Previous experience in a junior management role or potential for growth in leadership.

  • Housing sector experience is preferred but not mandatory.

  • A collaborative team player, comfortable working across departments and providing support to various stakeholders.
