We’re looking for an Assistant Buyer to support our GNFR (Goods Not for Resale) Procurement function at our Store Support Centre in Melton (HU14 3HJ). Salary: Circa £35,000

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in supporting the GNFR Procurement Manager, helping to source goods and services ethically, cost-effectively, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Gather and analyse usage and spend data across departments.
• Convert raw data into clear, presentable formats.
• Issue tenders and requests for proposals.
• Assess commercial proposals and assist in negotiations.
• Support vendor management and cost reduction initiatives.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Process requisitions and raise purchase orders.
• Track deliveries and resolve invoice queries.

Who We’re Looking For

• Procurement or Buying Support
• Commercial or Supply Chain roles

Ideal candidates will bring:

• Experience in a Procurement function (GNFR preferred but all backgrounds considered)
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Attention to detail and a flexible, hands-on approach
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Enthusiasm and ownership of tasks
