Role Profile – Assistant Budget & Process Manager – Customer

The UK Customer team is a multi-disciplined team operating as both an HBUK Entity team and as a core part of WPB in the UK. It supports the strategic and revenue growth priorities of HBUK by focussing on understanding customers and customer / client behaviour, strengthening the HSBC brand in the UK, identifying, developing and executing Brand and acquisition marketing strategies and driving increases in customer satisfaction, customer value and revenue. The team also includes deep capability to support the WPB buisness in the UK ranging from Data and Analytics to Customer Segment management, Proposition design and delivery (including Premier and International) to Customer communications and Experience design to Website management

The role exists within the UK Customer, Proposition & Marketing Services team, which delivers a range of support services to the Customer team across the UK RFB.

The role of the Assistant Budget & Process Manager is to support the Senior Budget & Process Manager with the day to day management of all aspects of the UK customer team budgets and the operational processes & systems that support the delivery of marketing campaigns. This is an interim role, following recent restructuring & consolodation of teams.

In order to do this, you will:

· Support the Senior Budget & Process Manager in the day to day management & reporting of all elements of the customer team budget to ensure delivery of agreed targets (e.g Direct cost, Contra, Interco Recharges, Functional Cost). c.£200m+ (600 FTE)

· Support the month end close processes.

· Regularly review & analysis purchase order & invoice positions.

· Creation & deliver robust of HBUK financial budgets & forecasts.

· Ensure marketing processes are fit for purpose and proactively drive better ways of working across HBUK CPM services

· Proactively identify opportunities for cost reduction/optimisation/re-investment, ensure challenge & financial rigour to the operations of the HBUK CPM team.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

· A good understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing large volumes of data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting

· Good systems knowledge, MS Excel, MS Access, Fusion.

· Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. finance, marketing, administration.

· A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change

· Experience of providing support to colleagues through collaborative working/training.

· Good written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences

· Builds effective networks across business areas & teams, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same

· Self-starter, able to drive continual learning in self and others

· Passionate about customers and delivering against customer needs

· A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers

The base location for this role is Birmingham (Hybrid working)

Salary : 40000 - 45000
