The businessWe are delighted to be supporting an international business based in Manchester in the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant.  With worldwide sites the business is on a growth trajectory, looking for an experienced assistant accountant to join a dynamic finance team. RoleThis role is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to gain commercial experience within a fast-paced industry environment.You will work closely with the  Head of Finance and Finance Director, ensuring accurate and timely financial data recording, reconciliation, and continuous improvement of financial processes.Duties include:

• Assist with the daily recording of financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
• Support the preparation and review of account reconciliations, identifying and investigating discrepancies.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Help prepare draft financial statements and internal reports under supervision.
• Support the preparation of audit packs and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain and update financial records and supporting documentation for audit readiness

Person

• Part-qualified accountant ( ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
• Prior experience in accounting /finance role
• Understanding of basic accounting and principles and financial reporting  
• Experience using ERP systems and proficiency in Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a commercial finance role
