Assistant Accountant

Location: Birmingham | Salary: £40,000 | 12 - 14 Month FTC

We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to support our clients financial operations, reporting, and forecasting. This is a varied role offering exposure across banking, cashflow, and intercompany processes. This role is a fixed term contract for 12 - 14 months. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage interest and bank charges budget with monthly analysis
• Oversee group banking records, payments, and reconciliations
• Submit reports to receivables finance services
• Collaborate with business units on financial analysis
• Review VAT on expenses and credit card claims
• Assist with credit card reconciliations and month-end postings
• Handle intercompany submissions and reconciliations

Requirements:

• Proven experience in finance or accounting
• Strong understanding of banking operations and reconciliations
• Proficiency in forecasting and financial reporting
• Ability to collaborate across departments
• Familiarity with VAT, credit card processes, and intercompany accounting
• SAP experience is a plus
