Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be working with a thriving and ambitious SME based in St Helens, currently seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their expanding finance team. You'll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking team, gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of finance functions while working closely with experienced professionals who are passionate about development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Reconciling bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with VAT returns and other tax submissions
- Processing invoices and supporting accounts payable/receivable functions
- Preparing financial reports and analysis for internal use
- Supporting year-end audit and statutory reporting
- Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed
What we're looking for
- A degree in finance/accounting, AAT qualification and/or are part-qualified CIMA (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Ability to interpret financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies
- Comfortable in a fast-paced or changing environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
- Confident using Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
