Assistant Accountant – Reading - £35,000 - £40,000 per annum – 12 Months FTC

About the Client

A well-established organisation employing over 200 people across the UK, with an expanding footprint and a diverse client base. With offices nationwide, they provide a broad range of services to their customers. They cultivate a supportive atmosphere where mentorship and professional development are central to their mission.

Duties will include:

• Acting as the primary accounting contact for a new client
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including P&L, balance sheets and cash flow statements
• Reconciliation
• Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for client portfolios
• Managing invoicing and ensuring timely collection of payments
• Ensuring compliance with VAT
• Reconciling client and bank accounts to maintain accurate records
• Supporting year-end audit processes and liaising with auditors as needed
• Delivering excellent client service and proactive financial advice
• Participating in ad-hoc financial projects and analysis

About the Successful Applicant

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential. A relevant degree and professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) would be highly beneficial, alongside strong Excel skills.
