Adele Carr Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-regarded organisation in Liverpool who are seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive finance team, working across both UK and US entities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial discipline and delivering accurate reporting, while supporting senior stakeholders and contributing to wider finance-led projects.
About the RoleReporting directly to the Finance Manager and working alongside three colleagues within the Financial Accounting team, you'll take ownership of a wide range of responsibilities including:
Assisting with the preparation of period-end management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journals
Producing monthly cost variance analysis
Providing financial support to budget holders and project leads
Leading quarterly spend reviews to support informed decision-making
Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and posting depreciation journals
Preparing nominal bill recharges to other entities and reviewing staff expense claims
Supporting US tax reporting and assisting with budgeting and reforecasting processes
Completing quarterly and annual ONS surveys
Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining controls
Supporting the year-end audit with documentation and reporting
Providing occasional cover for colleagues within the finance function
This role would suit someone with experience in a similar finance or accounting support position, who enjoys being hands-on and working as part of a team. Key skills and attributes include:
Strong attention to detail and understanding of financial controls
Organised and proactive approach to work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable, flexible, and a motivated team player
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
