Reed Talent Solutions are working with Cadent Gas on the search for Asset Data Capture Support.
We are seeking a Asset Data Capture Support to work across various gas sites in the West Midlands. This role involves travelling to different locations, using GPS and iPads to measure and document gas pipe installations or abandonments, and communicating with site teams to ensure efficient work-flow. The position requires a clean driving license, an open mind, and strong problem-solving skills. You will require handle multiple jobs daily, with a typical range of 5-14 jobs, so efficient communication with site teams to coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient work flow is essential. While you will often work independently, you will be part of a larger team, reporting to a team leader and collaborating with team members as needed.

Your Responsibilities:
- Ensuring visual on-site visits are carried out on existing and new gas mains / assets that are being worked on by the operational teams throughout the various workstreams and, working closely with Operational Staff, produce electronic drawings / span sheets of the site visit
- Responsible for ensuring records for completed works are accurately captured to the required standard and returned to the Asset Data Team within appropriate prescribed timelines
- Ensuring site visits are carried out for existing and new gas mains / assets while pipes are exposed, ensuring Operational Staff are notified of any DR4 Requirements, Shallow Mains Deviations, Stub Ends, Valve/ Governor Cards or Deviations from Design, including any H Code findings via Ctrl HUB forms
- Identifying and escalating any discrepancies to their Team Leader, the Asset Data Team & Customer Operations, where appropriate
- Complying with all HS&E procedures - use the appropriate work equipment and personal protective equipment and participate proactively in achieving HS&E objectives including Process Safety & Lone Working Activities
- Reviewing and applying analysis of Performance and Quality MI Systems Feedback e.g. Allocated Reports, Whereabouts, DCT Performance Statistics
- Ensuring all information within project packs for each street is complete and accurate and is submitted using relevant Cadent systems
- Where appropriate complete site photos & logs to support DR4s, shallow mains, stub lengths against REP2
- Liaising directly with Site Managers and Cadent operational staff to ensure accurate data is captured • Completing H Code App to notify of any hazards
- Recording of any details for Digitisable Services / Connections, inclusive of CSEP activities
- Ensuring Mains Test Certificates are appropriately referenced • Where required, support with Service Compliance Activities (Domestic / Non-Domestic), Plant Protection, DR/8 Compliance, CSEP Mapping Assistance
- Liaising with Site Manager to advise where there is need for Records of Asset Errors (DR4/RbP and supporting information), valve cards and/or governor cards, syphons and other appropriate plant items to be recorded, DCT Calendars, Whereabouts Activities and Allocated Reports (ensuring they are included on drawings)
- Maintaining and Managing Site Visit Logistics (Appropriate for Data Capture).
- Ensuring the abandonment dates for each section of pipe on all project streets are correctly recorded.
- Ensuring Routine Operations (ROs) / Non-Routine Operation (NROs) are appropriately referenced for all assets laid and assets abandoned
- Ensuring Live Insertion Works are captured accurately with co-ordination with Operations. If a Live Head is left in situ, this should be recorded using the Viewing Dome Location.
- Ensuring Pipe Protection & Cathodic Protection are referenced appropriately.
Skills/Requirements:
- Clean driving license as you will travel to various sites using a company-provided fleet car
- Have experienced with Data Collector and GPS Software(s)
- Ability to work accurately within tight deadlines and on own initiative
- Open mind and willingness to learn
- Ability to think on your feet and solve problems
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Experience in the gas industry is a plus, but not required.

- Contract type: 9 months assignment
- Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm (may be later or earlier as business need) 37h per week
- Location: Base: 13 Planetary Rd, Wolverhampton, Willenhall WV13 3XA. Traveling from Crewe to Tamworth, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Welsh border, Shrewsbury and back to Crewe
