Job Description :

Tradewind is currently seeking a learning support assistant to work with a child in KS2 who has mild autism and attachment issues at a primary school in Nailsea.

As a learning support assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to the child throughout the school day. Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies to help the child manage their emotions and behaviour, as well as supporting their academic progress across all subject areas.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who possesses the following personality traits:

  • Patience: the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations is crucial when working with children who have additional needs. You must be able to provide a safe and nurturing environment where the child feels supported and valued.
  • Empathy: a strong sense of empathy and understanding is vital when working with a child who has autism and attachment issues. You must be able to connect with the child and understand their unique needs and challenges.
  • Resilience: a tenacious and determined approach to helping the child overcome any obstacles they may face is necessary to ensure their academic and personal success. You must be committed to providing ongoing support and encouragement, even when faced with setbacks.
  • Flexibility: the ability to adapt and modify your approach based on the needs of the child is crucial. You must be able to work collaboratively with the child's teacher and other support staff to develop and implement effective strategies.

Working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. This is a full-time position, and the school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible. They may consider a job share for the right person. The pay is £90 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications.

In return for your dedication and hard work, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary, ongoing training and development opportunities, and the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a meaningful difference in a child's life.
