Area Cleaning Supervisor

Location: Thanet - You will be required to cover an area from Folkestone up to Sittingbourne but most of the client locations are based in Thanet.

Salary- £12.82 per hour

Benefits: Company Vehicle, Pension, Uniform

Hours: This role is for 30 hours per week and will involve both morning 7.00 am - 1.00 pm and afternoon/early evening shifts between 1.00 pm - 7.00 pm although a degree of flexibility will be required

Do you have cleaning experience with 5 years of supervisor experience gained within the cleaning industry, supervising multiple cleaning teams?

We have a fantastic opportunity in Thanet for an Area Cleaning Supervisor to work for one of our clients. In this role, you will be working Monday to Friday.

Although weekend work is rare you will be required to work occasional weekends and adequate warning will be given in advance.

This is a permanent position providing you have met the qualifying probation period of 6 months

As Area Supervisor you will be report directly to the Contracts Manager and provide support to our on-site cleaning teams, making sure levels of hygiene and cleanliness are met and the best possible cleaning standards are delivered.

You will be required to develop strong working relationships with our clients and our cleaning teams alike, fully understanding the cleaning specification and level of service required, and immediately resolving any issues concerning the delivery of service and standards if and when they occur. As Area Supervisor you will play an active part in recruitment an assist with the development of our cleaning teams including on site staff training.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all sites are cleaned and maintained to the highest possible standards in line with the site specific cleaning specification, through regular quality control visits
  • Compile regular audit reports on the delivery of service and the standards achieved
  • Make sure all staff under your Supervision are compliant with all Health and Safety regulations
  • Report any drop in the service delivery to the Contracts Manager
  • Recruit new members of staff
  • Provide on-site training and inductions to all new recruits, in line with company procedures and policies
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies are delivered to site when required and on time
  • Arrange all holiday and sickness cover when required
  • Liaise effectively with the client in relation to the delivery of service, queries and complaints and act accordingly
  • Ensure that all staff are familiar and compliant with all Health and Safety requirements, company policies and cleaning procedures and report any breaches of the same to the Contracts Manager
  • You will be required to provide a hands approach to this position and provide cleaning services when required to cover holiday and sickness at short notice and assist with the cleaning teams with periodic cleaning, buffing/scrubbing of floors etc

Personal Requirements

  • You will be able to communicate well and professionally with staff and clients
  • Possess problem solving skills and a flexible approach to the role
  • Be able to write and compile reports to an acceptable standard
  • Have experience in the following: Buffing/scrubbing and stripping/sealing of floors, carpet cleaning.
  • Live within the local area
  • Have high cleaning expectations and be able to clean to a high standard
  • Good motivational skills and be able to meet cleaning deadlines

Essential requirements

  • Computer literate and have basic computer skills in Word and Excel
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Fluent in English
  • Must be able to work both morning and afternoon shifts

Successful applicants will be required to

  • To pass an Enhanced DBS police check

Undertake IOSH (Institute of Occupational Health and Safety) Training. Paid for by the company together with any other training in line with company requirements
