Advanced Practitioner - Leaving Care

  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our Leaving Care team in Gloucestershire. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional services and achieving the best outcomes for children and young people. The ideal candidate will be resilient, driven, and committed to our vision for children’s services. You will manage a protected caseload, focusing on children and young people with complex needs, and take a lead in promoting quality control and improvement within the team.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Manage a protected caseload of children and young people with complex and challenging needs.
  • Lead quality control and improvement activities within the team and service.
  • Support performance activities and provide supervision and management oversight.
  • Mentor Trainee Social Workers on placement and Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) within the team.
  • Conduct pathway-planning and independence work for care leavers aged 16 and upwards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • UK-based statutory social work experience.
  • Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Experience at Senior Social Worker level.
