Job Purpose:
To provide professional and welcoming front-of-house reception support within a school environment, ensuring all visitors, staff, and students are greeted appropriately and administrative tasks are handled efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, staff, and students entering the school
- Manage meeting room bookings and coordinate calendar scheduling
- Greet and direct visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Handle a variety of queries and needs from individuals arriving on site, responding appropriately and sensitively
- Answer and direct incoming calls and emails
- Maintain visitor logs and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
- Support general administrative tasks including photocopying, filing, and data entry
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional and approachable manner
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond calmly under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and calendar management tools
Desirable:
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and visitor protocols
- Familiarity with school management systems
