Job Description :

Reed are working with a College in Coventry and are seeking an Additional Learning Support Coordinator to join the Learning Services department on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for coordinating a team of learning support practitioners to ensure that students receive high-quality support tailored to their individual needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out initial assessments, overseeing the production of personalised Support Plans, and ensuring compliance with EHCP requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work within a priority system to timetable Learning Support Practitioners (LSPs) to students across an allocated curriculum area according to need.
  • Liaise with teachers and managers to ensure that key information is shared regarding optimum teaching and learning strategies.
  • Contribute to the observations of Learning Support Practitioners to support their professional development.
  • Work with the ALS Manager to promote a culture of developing student skills with assistive technology as a normal way of working and for their exam access arrangements.
  • Ensure the quality and appropriateness of support for learners as per their Support Plan.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of all support-related matters on Pro Monitor so that the learner journey is clearly presented.
  • Share information with personal tutors, teaching staff, well-being coaches, relevant agencies, and the Safeguarding team, where appropriate.
  • Support transition and exit arrangements and liaison with other professionals linked to particular learners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in coordinating a team of learning support practitioners.
  • Ability to carry out initial assessments and oversee the production of personalised Support Plans.
  • Experience in tracking, monitoring, and reviewing students with EHCPs.
  • Strong communication and liaison skills to work effectively with teachers, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and data management systems like Pro Monitor.
  • Ability to act as Key Practitioner to a minimum of 6 students, providing high-quality support and tracking of progress.
  • Enhanced DBS.
