Job Description :

Join our client who are an innovative and design-led company as an Accounts Receivables Assistant. This role is ideal for someone with a Finance or Business-related degree who is enthusiastic about further studies and career growth. You will primarily assist with the accounts receivables and credit control functions, managing key accounts and ensuring efficient financial operations.

Duties:

  • Manage credit control activities including issuing monthly customer statements,and maintaining regular contact through letters and phone calls.
  • Handle sales invoice management through EDI and customer portals.
  • Address and process debit notes, including managing approvals and credit note processing.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team, account managers, and agents/sales reps to resolve potential issues and manage debit notes; organise regular meetings for this purpose.
  • Conduct credit checks for new account applications, set credit limits for new and existing customers using an online service, and advise on any issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit control activities and report monthly to the manager.
  • Prepare monthly commission statements for sales agents and reps in the UK, Europe, and the USA.
  • Analyse monthly credit notes and accounts receivables.
  • Process incoming payments via cheque, BACS, and card, including handling refunds in multiple currencies (GBP, EUR, USD).
  • Provide support and cover to the team during holidays, busy periods, or special projects.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and take on new tasks as the role evolves.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an FMCG environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with essential skills in Excel.
  • Knowledge of VAT and international exports (FOB/Ex-works/DDP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Organised and accurate with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Proactive problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude, agile in adapting to change and challenges.
  • High energy levels and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible as necessary.
  • An interest in Party, Homewares, Gift, Beauty, Fashion, or Accessories would be beneficial.

Working hours are 9-5.30pm, working 4 days in the office and 1 from home after probation
