Are you a motivated and detail-focused finance professional looking for a temporary role within a small, friendly, and supportive finance team? We are seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Chesterfield.
About the business:A leading supplier in the hospitality sector, this company provides a wide range of design-led tableware products to both UK and international markets. Recently partnered with a global industry leader, it is an exciting time to join their growing finance function.
What you’ll do:
Code and input invoices and credit notes accurately
Match invoices to purchase orders and proof of delivery
Post bank transactions, including foreign currency accounts
Prepare supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
Handle supplier queries professionally and promptly
Process employee expenses in line with VAT rules
Complete monthly Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) reconciliations
Raise and manage stock claims
Provide general support to the finance team with ad hoc duties
What we’re looking for:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification desirable
Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a finance team
Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail
Organised, methodical, and able to meet deadlines under pressure
Confident communicator with suppliers and colleagues
Proactive team player who can manage their own workload
