Our client located in the centre of Harrogate is looking for an accounts payable assistant to take ownership of their Purchase Ledger function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Purchase Ledger
- Open new supplier accounts with correct documentation and agreed terms.
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices daily, ensuring timely matching and batching.
- Liaise with depots to chase invoice authorisations and resolve aged creditor balances.
- Reconcile supplier statements and produce weekly payment runs for approval.
- Handle supplier and internal queries professionally and promptly.
- Verify and process staff credit card expenditure and expenses, ensuring VAT accuracy.
- Support audit compliance and maintain accurate ledger records.
- Provide cover for team members and support Purchase Ledger Manager as needed.
- Assist with aligning processes for new acquisitions and reducing unallocated cash.
Skills Required:
- A good general standard of education with strong communication skills.
- AAT qualification (or currently studying) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Accounts or purchase ledger experience
