Accounts Payable Accountant - MRK Associates : Job Details

Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, our international client seeks an experienced individual to join them as an Accounts Payable Accountant, on a permanent basis. This role is office based 4 days and at home 1 day so please make sure you are within a commutable distance.

This job would suit an organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable professional to be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchase ledger process, ensuring timely invoice processing, reconciliations, and vendor management within a fast-paced finance environment.

The successful individual will have proven experience in accounts payable, with strong understanding of AP processes and used to dealing with large volumes of invoices. A finance-related degree is desirable, along with proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle or Dynamics 365, and strong Excel skills. Excellent communication, vendor management and problem-solving skills are essential.

Job responsibilities:

• Review, code and enter invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policy
• Match invoices to POs and receipts, resolving any discrepancies efficiently
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and vendor payments
• Manage and maintain vendor records including contact, payment and tax information
• Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and manage statements
• Review and process employee expense reports via Concur, ensuring policy compliance
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to the general ledger monthly
• Support month-end and year-end close by preparing AP reports and documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and company procedures
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation
• Recommend and implement process improvements within the accounts payable function
• Assist in drafting and updating AP policies and procedures
• Support wider finance initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed
