Meraki Talent are working with a leading UK accountancy firm to appoint an Accounts Manager in their growing Edinburgh office. This is an excellent opportunity to lead client work, manage a capable team, and contribute to the success of a national practice with strong local leadership.
The Role
As Accounts Manager, you will oversee a varied portfolio of clients—primarily SMEs and larger OMBs - across a range of sectors including agriculture, estates, and professional services. You will manage a team of seniors and juniors, ensure compliance with FRS 102, FRS 102 1A, and FRS 105, and contribute to team development and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and agree draft budgets for client engagements
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements and corporation tax computations
- Supervise and support the accounts team, reviewing their work and providing guidance
- Act as the main point of contact for clients; resolve queries and provide tailored advice
- Manage workflow, billing, WIP, and job profitability
- Ensure timely Companies House and HMRC submissions
- Stay current with accounting standards and legislation
- Work cross-functionally to identify further service opportunities
- Help onboard and mentor new team members as the department grows
About You
- ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong background in accounts preparation, corporate tax, and portfolio management within a UK practice environment
- Confident managing client relationships and reviewing the work of more junior staff
- Familiar with FRS A, and FRS 105 (agriculture experience is advantageous but not essential)
- Well-organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing deadlines
