We are acting on behalf of our client who is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounts Manager (ACCA / ACA qualified) to join their growing accountancy practice. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with a robust background in accountancy practice, aiming to take on a strategic and leadership-focused position.

Day-to-day of the role:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, reviewing work, providing technical guidance, and supporting professional development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and assist in staff training and progression planning.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

Strategic Client Management:

  • Manage high-value and complex client portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Handle client negotiations, conflict resolution, and ensure exceptional client satisfaction.

Financial & Practice Management:

  • Drive business growth by identifying new revenue opportunities, cross-selling services, and improving operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee financial reporting, compliance, and tax planning for clients.
  • Take responsibility for WIP (work-in-progress), billing, and profitability of assigned portfolios.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Practice Development & Strategy:

  • Contribute to the firm’s strategic planning, budgeting, and long-term goals.
  • Improve and implement new accounting processes and technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Represent the firm at networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA) with significant experience in accountancy practice.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, client portfolios, and practice development.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and client management skills.
